As we approach springtime, it’s time to polish our binoculars, fill our bird feeders and get ready to count some birds! Launched in 1998 by the Cornell Lab of Ornithology and National Audubon Society, The Great Backyard Bird Count is a community science project where people from all over the world come together to help scientists better understand global bird populations. Anyone can participate by counting birds in your backyard, local park, your apartment balcony, anywhere you can spot them, and submitting your observations online.
